Equipment Return

Can We Have Our Equipment Back Please?

Image of crutchesWirral University Teaching Hospital is committed to providing the highest quality patient care to all its patients.

In order for us to make the best use of resources, we are encouraging people to return any equipment that belongs to the Trust, which is no longer required for treatment or rehabilitation.

For example, every month the Accident & Emergency Department orders 100 pairs of crutches at a cost of £944.00. The loss of the crutches is a huge drain on NHS resources and is part of a wider trend of NHS equipment being loaned out and never returned.

All equipment that is loaned to patients to aid their rehabilitation and or assist then in their every day lives should, when no longer needed, be returned to the appropriate department where it can be cleaned, serviced and made available to other patients in need.

We are looking for the return of:

  • Crutches
  • Zimmer Frames
  • Rollators
  • Walking Sticks
  • Wheel Chairs
  • Commodes
  • Baby Breathing Alarms
  • Apnoea Alarms
  • Linen items such as blankets, pyjamas, night-dresses and dressing gowns.
  • Electric nebuliser systems, and any other specialised items that have been loaned to patients.
  • All items should be returned to the department or ward of issue.

Contact us with information about equipment you would like to return to us.
