Clinical Education and Development

Clinical Education and Development Team
The team are based in Wirral Hospital which is a large teaching hospital, situated on the Wirral, Merseyside in the North West of England. We run a variety of internal and external courses ranging from Clinical Skills to nationally accredited resuscitation courses and training in first aid and aggression management. We have fully functional clinical skills laboratory, simulation suite and resuscitation training room.

Course costs

Attendance to most of our courses is free to Wirral University Teaching Hospital employees as per Learning and Development Policy 2006, however, there will be a charge for nationally accredited resuscitation courses such as Advanced Life Support, Paediatric Life Support etc.

External Applications

External organisations are also welcome to book on any of our courses. Room Bookings

In addition to the Simulation Suite and Clinical Skills Laboratory the Clinical Skills Centre has two seminar rooms. Seminar Room A – seating a maximum of 12 people and Seminar Room B – seating a maximum of 24 people. AV facilities are available and these rooms may be booked by internal staff for training/meetings free of charge or to external organisations with fee applicable. Please note that priority for room bookings is given to training events.

Non Attendance

Please ensure the participant agrees to attendance and compliance with the Trust's Learning & Development Policy. It is important for staff to attend the whole of the session in order that they do not miss any core elements. Therefore if the participant arrives more than 10 minutes late, they will be refused entry, charged for non-attendance and will have to re-book. All staff are to sign an attendance register. Those that do not sign will be treated as not attending and a charge will be raised.
