Welcome to Wirral University Teaching Hospital

Welcome to Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are the organisation which runs the Arrowe Park and Clatterbridge Hospitals in the north west of England.

Highly graded in independent studies, our organisation combines a modern structure with traditional values in caring for our patients.

Visiting Restrictions In Effect

Following a recent outbreak of Norovirus (known as 'winter vomiting'), a highly infectious, community acquired virus that causes diarrhoea and/or vomiting, it was necessary to close some wards to visitors. As a result of action taken within the hospitals to control the spread of this virus, all wards are once again open to visitors. However, in order to continue to contain this virus a strict visiting policy is being enforced:

  • no more than 2 visitors per bed
  • visiting restricted to between 3pm and 4pm and 7pm and 8pm
  • children not allowed in to visit
